Peadar Gormley, the founder and CEO of MyPlace Connect, Ireland’s largest free WiFi network with over 300,000 users, presented at the WiFi World Summit in Thistle Marble Arch London on Thursday 26th September. The summit was the second of its kind and brought together the leading and most innovative Wi-Fi providers in the world.
There was a huge turnout at the event with leading telecom operators such as Telefonica O2, Deutsche Telekom, Orange, Belgacom, Bouygues Telecom, Virgin Media, SFR, Telkom Indonesia, Telekom Slovenia, Telecom Italia and Saudi Telecom Company among many others. These providers took the opportunity to discuss different means of achieving competitive differentiation through WiFi.
The WiFi World Summit brought together leaders in the fields of Retail, Enterprise, Community and Public and Social, to outline their strategies and visions for the future. Speakers included representatives from The Cloud, Wavespot, Zon, MyPlace Media, Gowex, Truphone, So Purple Group, Wicoms, Blue Butterfly Digital, Skype, and Guglielmo.
Gormley, the CEO of the free WiFi provider stated; “I am delighted to have been able to present at the event, especially because of the impressive attendees. I spoke about how businesses can provide WiFi in a user friendly manner while at the same time gaining market intelligence.”
Initially developed as an advertising platform, MyPlace Connect has grown to become a highly adaptable, mobile cloud based, hotspot solution under the stewardship of its founder. Gormley is now focused on expanding MyPlace Connects international presence.
