User credentials
To allow MyPlace to communicate with your network controller, user credentials or API credentials are required. These credentials act as the gateway, granting MyPlace access to the necessary functions of the controller, such as guest onboarding and data collection. Without these credentials, MyPlace cannot integrate with your Wi-Fi network effectively.
In the case of API access, the process typically involves an endpoint URL and a secret key or API key, which are provided by the network controller. These credentials enable secure communication between MyPlace and the controller, ensuring that the data is transferred securely and efficiently. This setup is common with cloud-based controllers, where the credentials allow seamless, remote integration.
For local hardware controllers, the process may involve creating a local user account specifically for MyPlace. This user account will be granted the necessary permissions to interact with the controller, allowing MyPlace to perform its functions. These credentials ensure that MyPlace can connect and operate even when the network controller is hosted locally on-site.
