How MyPlace connects to your WiFi
All Wi-Fi networks, regardless of the manufacturer, share several core components that make them function. These typically include access points (which distribute the Wi-Fi signal), switches (which connect devices within the network), and firewalls (which provide security by managing traffic flow). While the specific products and configurations may vary, the underlying structure of these networks is broadly similar, allowing MyPlace to integrate seamlessly.
Most mainstream Wi-Fi manufacturers also provide what’s called a network controller. This controller is a centralized system, either hardware or cloud-based, that manages and configures the entire network. It allows administrators to adjust settings, optimize performance, push updates, and ensure that the Wi-Fi network runs smoothly. The controller acts as the brain of the network, giving you control over how access points, switches, and firewalls work together to provide a stable and secure Wi-Fi experience.
MyPlace connects directly to the network controller through an API, allowing it to onboard guests onto the Wi-Fi network and manage various aspects of guest interaction. By interfacing with the controller, MyPlace can handle tasks such as authenticating users, capturing customer data, and ensuring a seamless connection experience for your guests—all while integrating this data into your CRM or marketing platform.
