Connect from the MyPlace dashboard in a couple of clicks. Go to Settings, choose Integrations, select Shopify, and enter your store URL in the format your-store.myshopify.com. Approve the read and write customer permissions in your Shopify admin and you are done. It uses Shopify’s official OAuth connection, so there are no API keys to copy and the connection stays authorized.
MyPlace sends each guest’s first name, last name, verified email address, and phone number to your Shopify customer list, along with their email and SMS marketing consent. Birthdays and addresses sync too when you collect them, and you can map any other MyPlace field to a Shopify customer metafield. Every synced guest is tagged so you can find them in Shopify straight away.
In real time. When a guest signs into your WiFi, MyPlace verifies their details and syncs them to Shopify immediately. There are no batch delays, so a guest who connected at lunch is in your Shopify customer list before they finish their meal.
MyPlace searches your Shopify customer list by email address first, so it never creates a duplicate of a customer you already have. When it finds a match, it updates that profile with what the guest gave you at WiFi login: name, phone number, marketing consent, and the MyPlace tag. Anything MyPlace does not send, including order history and notes, is left exactly as it is.
Yes. Guests give their details and their marketing consent directly on the WiFi login screen, and MyPlace writes that consent state into Shopify so your marketing lists match what each guest actually agreed to. You control what syncs through field mapping, and only guests captured through your own MyPlace touchpoints are sent.
Shopify is included in the Growth and Advanced plans. On the Essentials plan you can add it for $20 per month. There are no usage fees on top.
No. MyPlace syncs guests forward from the moment you connect, so new WiFi logins flow into Shopify from day one. It does not import your existing Shopify customers and it does not backfill guests captured before you connected. Those guests stay in MyPlace, where you can still export them.
