MyPlace Integration Guide for Ruckus One WiFi Controllers
Integrating MyPlace with your Ruckus One cloud controller allows you to offer a seamless, branded guest Wi-Fi login experience across your wireless network. This guide walks you through the process of connecting your Ruckus One controller to MyPlace and completing the required setup.
Supported Ruckus One Architecture
Ruckus One is a cloud-based controller platform that manages Ruckus access points and networks with scalability and flexibility. Compared to SmartZone on-prem deployments, Ruckus One is fully managed in the cloud and accessed through region-specific endpoints.
Required Information
Before starting the integration, you will need:
- Region of your Ruckus One controller (US, Europe, or Asia)
- Tenant ID (from the Ruckus One dashboard URL)
- Client ID and Client Secret (from a generated application token in Ruckus One)
Step-by-Step Guide
Step 1: Select Controller Type
- Open the MyPlace Admin Panel.
- Navigate to Networks > Network Controllers.
- Click Add Controller.
- Select the following:
- Type: Ruckus
- Subtype: Ruckus One
Step 2: Select Region
From the dropdown list, select the region where your Ruckus One controller is hosted. This determines the correct API endpoint.

Click Next to proceed.
Step 3: Enter Credentials
You will now be prompted to enter the following:
- Tenant ID
- Client ID
- Client Secret
How to Find Your Tenant ID
- Log into your Ruckus One controller.
- The Tenant ID is part of the URL in your browser: Example:
https://eu.ruckus.cloud/tenant/<tenant-id>
How to Generate Client ID and Client Secret
- In the Ruckus One admin panel, hover over the Administration icon (bottom left).
- Click Settings.
3. Scroll to the bottom of the page and find the Application Tokens section.
4. Click Add Token.
5. In the modal:
6. Set Scope to: Administrator
7. Set a Token Name (e.g., MyPlace Integration)
8. Click Add
9. Copy the Client ID and Client Secret.
10. Paste these into the corresponding fields in the MyPlace panel and click Next.
Step 4: Select Venue and Finish
- Once credentials are validated, a dropdown of available venues will appear.
- Select the venue corresponding to your network.
- Click Finish.
Your Ruckus One controller is now successfully integrated with MyPlace. 🚀
Final Notes
- You do not need to open local ports or configure firewalls for Ruckus One, as the platform is cloud-based.
- Ensure the token has Administrator permissions to enable full API access.
- MyPlace will now be able to push splash page configurations and capture guest analytics from your Ruckus One-managed APs.
